"Cap-badge" und die Schultertitel wurden, in einer
Zigarettendose aufbewahrt, in die linke Brusttasche seiner Uniform
gesteckt. So konnte auch später, nach einer Umbettung, der Soldat
identifiziert werden.

Identity disc:
Die
beiden "Identity discs" sind aus gepresster Faser hergestellt
und immer in den Farben grün und rot. Diese wurden an einer Schnur um
den Hals getragen. Vielmals wurde noch ein Glücksbringer daran angehängt.

Army Numbers
Allocated to Corps and Regiments of the British Army
Die
zugeteilte Army Nummer ist abgängig von der Einheit, in die er
Eingeteilt wird. Sie wird vom Offizier zugewiesen.
Wer seine Nummer vor 1939 zugeteilt
bekam, und in der Miliz diente, bekam einen neuen Nummer.
Ausnahme: Soldaten der Ergänzungsreserve.
Ein wieder eingezogenere Soldat bekam
ebenfalls wieder ihre alte Nummer.
Im folgenden Register sind die Army Nummern nach Corps sortiert.
Aufklärungs- und Fallschirmspringer-Einheiten können zahlen
anderer Corps haben, da sie aus diesem heraus gezogen wurden.
Im verlaufe des Krieges, wurden fast allen Soldaten eine
allgemeine Service-Korpszahl zugeteilt
